Olajide Akinleye-Martins is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales and is also qualified to practice as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Nigerian Supreme Court. She has practised extensively in commercial law practice in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. And has worked as in-house counsel in construction and manufacturing organisations. In addition, she is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Banking, and Tax professional with requisite experience in financial audit and taxation.
Olajide's research interests are in the areas of international investment arbitration and international environmental law. She obtained her LL.B from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and her LLM from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She is currently undertaking her PhD (Law) at Northumbria University, Newcastle, United Kingdom with her research study on investment arbitral tribunals and environmental policies of Host States within the African fossil fuel industry.
