Carlos Guzmán Plascencia is an associate in the International Dispute Resolution Practice of Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP. Carlos’s practice focuses on representing states and state owned entities in investor state disputes and commercial arbitrations, with a particular emphasis on disputes in the sectors of construction and infrastructure, telecommunications, and energy.
Carlos has more than 10 years of experience in investment and commercial arbitration proceedings. He has represented clients from the Americas, Middle East, Asia and Europe in proceedings under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Carlos has ample experience in enforcement proceedings relating to international arbitration awards.
