Yosra Abid, Esq, LL.M., is a California-qualified attorney, with over five years of legal experience in the United States and Tunisia. Her focused areas of practice are arbitration, energy, and project finance.
She specializes in investor-state dispute settlement, commercial, and construction arbitration, in addition to project financing large-scale energy and infrastructure projects using conventional and Islamic project finance techniques.
Yosra is a co-founder of and currently heads the Arab American Arbitration Center, Inc, based in Brooklyn, NY. The Arab American Arbitration Center, Inc prides itself on championing alternative dispute resolution culture within the Arab community in New York.
Companies, businesses, merchants, investors, or individuals at a given dispute do not have to be members of the Arab community though to make the AAAC their first choice for resolving their small, large and complex disputes. The AAAC proffers a rich panoply of Alternative Dispute Resolution services, notably mediation, arbitration, and hybrid mechanisms combining both mediation and arbitration. Yosra's previous experience includes working as a Contract Lawyer at Debevoice & Plimpton LLP (New York), Inhouse Counsel at EPAC, Inc (Tunis), a legal Consultant at Gide Loyrette Nouel (Tunis), a Project Assistance Specialist at Crowell & Moring LLP (New York), and a Legal Intern at the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR/AAA) (New York). Yosra is a graduate of New York University (NYU) School of Law and Pepperdine University School of Law, with two LL.M. degrees respectively in Environmental and Energy Law (2018) and International Dispute Resolution (2011).
Yosra is a Fulbright scholar, Erasmus Mundus fellow, and President of the Tunisian Association for ADR. She is author of a number of articles as well as speaker and trainer at several ADR events and workshops.
