Dr Guillaume Aréou is a member of the Paris Bar specialised in International Arbitration.
He holds a Ph.D. in International Investment Law from Nice Côte d'Azur University and has around ten years' experience in Africa-related arbitration. He assists both investors and States alike in arbitration proceedings under a variety of arbitration rules, spanning various industry sectors with a particular focus on investment and construction matters.
Guillaume is co-founder of AfricArb, an association of professionals focusing on Africa-related arbitration. He regularly lectures on International Arbitration at a number of French Universities and Business Schools such as Paris Dauphine University, ESSEC and IESEG.
Guillaume also frequently attends conferences as a speaker and regularly publishes articles on International Arbitration. His main areas of practice focuses on Africa-related issues, particularly relating to environmental policies, and on the development of arbitration in the field of Intellectual Property, notably regarding FRAND disputes.
