Professor Carmen Senés Motilla

Professor Senés Motilla is a Full Professor of Procedural Law at the University of Almería (Spain) since 1996.
She holds a Ph.D. in Law (1989), entitled Substantive and procedural treatment of foreign currency obligations, from the University of Málaga, Spain.
She has been a Lecturer of Procedural Law at the University of Málaga from 1991 to 1995.
Her research mainly focuses on European procedural law, insolvency law, judicial protection of the credit and arbitration.
She has published numerous scientific articles and authored several books, and has been director of a European research project (European Commission), four national research projects (Spanish Government) and two regional research projects (Andalucía Government). Currently, is director of an Excellence Thematic Network on Civil Justice funded by the Spanish Government.
She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals: Anuario de Derecho Concursal (Civitas Thomson-Reuters/Spain) and Práctica de Tribunales: revista de derecho procesal civil y mercantil (La Ley/Spain). In addition, she is a member of the Scientific Board of de journals: Revista de Derecho Civil y Revista Internacional de Estudios de Derecho Procesal y Arbitraje.
Is a member of the International Association of Procedural Law; Full Member of the Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación de Granada (Spain) and Member of the Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación (Madrid/Spain).
She is also Permanent Member of the Comisión General de Codificación (Ministerio de Justicia. Gobierno de España).
She has been General Secretary (1997-1998) and Director of the Department of Public Law (2004-2012) at the University of Almería.
