Fedelma Claire Smith has a BA in Law with Law Studies in Europe from Oxford University and an Advanced LLM in Public International Law from Leiden University. She has served as a member of the legal staff of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (2007-2008) and of the International Court of Justice (2008-2010), where she was law clerk to H. E. Judge Awn Al-Khasawneh and H. E. Judge Sir Kenneth Keith. She is the author of the case summaries in Permanent Court of Arbitration: Summaries of Awards 1999-2009 (TMC Asser Press/CUP 2010), which she edited with Belinda Macmahon. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Middle Temple in 2007 and will be undertaking pupillage at Field Court Chambers from September 2010.
