Professor Carlos Bernal Verea
Profile
Mr. Bernal recieved his law degree (cum laude) at Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City in 1973 and his LLM from the University of Cambridge in 1976 and specialises in corporate, energy, family, arbitation and international law. He was a Senior Partner at Noriega y E scobedo (1978-2007) and Minister Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations (1983-1989).
Currently he is Professor of Law at the ITAM (2008-) where he lectures on the many aspects of International Law. He also acted as arbitrator in cases before ICSID (Mexico vs. Tecmed and Vivendi vs. Argentina) and as practioner, arbitrator or President in arbitral cases at the Centro de Arbitraje de México (CAM). He has published several law articles in specialised journals and is a frequent speaker at Mexican and foreign universities.
