Noemi Gal-Or, B.A. (TAU, Tel-Aviv), Ph.D. (IUHEI, Geneva), LL.B. (UBC, Vancouver) is Professor of Politics and International Law at the Department of Political Science, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Surrey, BC. She has published extensively in various matters including international law (trade & investment, dispute settlement, responsibility, humanitarian, human rights, and criminal, law, and the non-state actor's status); international organisations (UN, WTO); international political economy; regional integration (EU, NAFTA, draft FTAA); security, terrorism, conflict resolution, public policy, migration, and gender. She consulted the Solicitor General of Canada and the Government of Israel in some of these areas.
A sole practitioner lawyer in Canadian and international law in Vancouver, Dr. Gal-Or is serving as Chair, National International Law Section, Canadian Bar Association's (CBA) and is Editor-in-Chief of the Section's journal Canadian International Lawyer. She is vice-President Research, Board of Directors, International Law Association (ILA) - Canada, representing it on the ILA's Use of Force, Complementarity, and Procedural Law of International Courts and Tribunals Committees; and Director, International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists.
