Professor Christian J. Tams

Christian J. Tams is Professor of International Law at the University of Glasgow. He completed his legal education in German and holds LL.M. and a Ph.D. degrees from the University of Cambridge (U.K.). His research focuses on the law of state responsibility, dispute settlement, and international investment law. In addition to his academic work, he has advised states in proceedings before the ICJ and ITLOS. He is an adjunct professor at the China EU School of Law (Beijing) and the Europa-Kolleg (Hamburg) and a member of the ILA's Committee on Non-State Actors.
